  @Wayne-TP

I just received an email from support trying to tell me there's nothing wrong. Maybe they don't understand.

It's as simple as this, two kits both Tp link panel and camera.

One kit worked for a week, in the app it showed panel as connected, displayed solar charging data and worked as intended.

Second kit never recognised the panel being connected in the app, battery status always at 100%

Now both my kits are displaying solar panel not connected, and show no charging data with battery status at 100%

We have a pattern of three people trying to explain this to you and we all want to know, is this a software or hardware issue, do we have faulty panels or cameras or is this a software bug in the app.

Because one of my kits did work properly for a week I have data in my app for the solar charging, so I do not accept that this is a "working as intended, operator error" situation.

You may try to disconnect the solar panel for a day or two, see if the camera battery level drops. *If the camera is barely used/triggered, keep the solar panel unplugged for a longer time.

The charging status will not display if the camera's battery level is at 100%. If the camera's power consumption is significantly lower than the solar panel's input, it is normal for the battery level to remain at 100%.

The issue discussed in this thread is likely due to the solar power input being significantly higher than the daily consumption of the camera, which is why the camera's battery always shows 100%.

If your device is experiencing a similar issue, you might try disconnecting the solar panel and allowing the camera to operate independently for a few days or even a week (depending on the camera's usage frequency) to see if there are any changes in the battery level.

Hi @Wayne-TP, i am also experiencing this for my tapo c410 kit (with tapo solar). I do expect that it is due to charging input being higher compared to cctv usage.

my questions is, would it not damage the battery in any way if it is just continuously charging? If it is recommended to unplug tbe charger, the solar itself should remain okay right since it is not connected to anything?

thanks in advance.

  @Wayne-TP i got problem with c410 kit right now too.

I got the update version but still have the same problem as batt showing 100% for whole week and no sign of charging from solar. When going to see in the solar charging data, it's always show 'There is no power supply'.

Wonder if something wrong, this is the new camera i just installed last week.

'There is no power supply' mean the camera is not charging at the moment, NOT solar panel is not connected. To find the solar energy output data, check the last graph on the Battery Status page, 'Solar Energy Output'.

As explained above, the possible reason why the camera battery level remains at 100% is that the power input exceeds the output: the camera's energy consumption is less than what the solar panel generates. You can try to disconnect the solar panel, and reconnect it several days later to confirm whether the solar panel is doing its job.
