Model: Archer AXE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20241101 rel.60873(5553)

Does IoT work on a AXE75 easymesh/satellite/ap setup?

modem -> AXE75 -> wired easymesh/satellite/ap AXE75

I have an IoT device right next to an easymesh/satellite/ap AXE75 and its not connecting to that easymesh/satellite/ap node.

A regular device (chromecast) has connected to the easymesh/satellite/ap AXE75 so that at least works.

I think that TP-Link works on this limitation and probably in future FW updates this limitation would be mitigated.

You could wait for such FW update, meanwhile using your main wireless network for these devices to enhance your wireless coverage.

Another approach would be to use Deco system instead, which AFAIK doesn't have this limitation - details.

AFAIK IoT and guest networks don't work on Easymesh satellites - details.

Ahhh, ok that make sense.

Have searched for a solution to my spread out 25+ IoT devices, tried other routers (OpenWrt on GL.iNet GL-MT6000 Flint 2 - DNS not working currently and 2.4 signal is weak).  The AXE75 has minimal control (no SSH) and opaque config (seems like minimal info from tp-link).

Thinking of hiring an SME who knows all the permutations and can suggest a great solution.

Would you be able to suggest a better path forward?

Thanks,

Marcus

Thank you for the recommendation.

I will look into Deco.
