Can 3 Deco X50 Pro in AP mode be wired to a 2.5Gb switch and then to the router?

I am getting the 3 pack of Deco X50 Pro because they have the 2.5Gb ports and we pay for 1.5Gb speeds to our house. However my ISP provided modem/router only has 4 1Gb ports and a single 10Gb port. I know in AP mode I can wire all 3 decos directly to the modem (it's how my current X55 setup is). But ofc that wouldn't allow all 3 nodes to fully utilize our bandwidth. So I'm wondering if I get a 2.5Gb switch can I connect the ISP modem/router into the switch and then wire the 3 deco nodes in AP mode directly to that switch to acheive Ethernet Backhaul?

TIA for the help!

Yes, you can.

This is how I run my 3 nodes Deco mesh with 2.5Gbps ports and modem/router with single 2.5Gbps port. To avoid any issues, buy switch from TP-Link brand.

Also, I would recommend to spend a bit more and get really good switch, with LED lights that show link speed. Such as TP-Link TL-SG108S-M2:

They also have similar 5-port model, if 8 ports is too many for you: TP-Link TL-SG105S-M2

  @Alexandre.

Thanks for the reply.

I was looking at the TP-Link TL-SG105S-M2 on Amazon. But it's a bit out of my current price range. I'm also unsure whether it supports the necessary IEEE 1905.1 protocol needed for wired backhaul?

So I was also looking into the more affordable 2.5Gb switches but couldn't find much info on whether or not they supported the IEEE 1905.1 protocol needed for ethernet backhaul. For example the BrosTrend 5 Port 2.5Gb Ethernet Switch on Amazon.

Currently unsure of what to do

EDIT: Actually bit the bullet and ordered the TP-Link TL-SG105S-M2 from Amazon. Unfortunately it says it won't arrive until January 10th. So have to wait and see if it'll work.

You made a good choice. That switch will assist with troubleshooting, when necessary. Once, I spent countless hours trying to figure why one of my wired Satellites became slow, only to realize it downgraded wired link to 100Mbps. After that, I bought the switch with link status LED lights.

By the way, apparently TP-Link also offers similar 5-port switch TP-Link TL-SG105-M2 which looks like bulkier 8-port switch I have, but with just 5 Ethernet ports. In performance, it should be identical to TL-SG105S-M2, but in my region it is currently on sale, 20% off its regular price (regular price is the same for both switches).

Check if you could get that from Amazon and perhaps, if TL-SG105-M2 goes for less, you'll still have time to cancel original order.
