Model: Deco X50-Outdoor
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.8 Build 20240914 Rel. 35513

I recently purchased a new X50 Outdoor to use as a satellite Deco to improve my network. It worked well during the first two weeks, but today, some of my devices started experiencing slow internet speeds, even though they were working fine just a day ago. This happens even when testing them in the same spot where they were previously functioning properly. However, other devices still work exactly as expected.

I tried performing a factory reset on my entire Deco network, which temporarily solved the issue for about 10 minutes, but then the problem returned. I’ll provide more details below.

Issue Details:

  • The affected devices have dropped from 600 Mbps to just 20-30 Mbps, making it difficult to use devices like my TP-Link Tapo security cameras.
  • Devices still working properly: Samsung S22 Ultra and Samsung Tab S8.
  • Devices experiencing issues: 3 Samsung S21 FE smartphones and 3 Tapo C310 cameras.

Extra Information:

  • My main Deco is an M4, and devices connected to it don’t seem to have any issues—this problem only occurs with the X50 Outdoor.
  • I’m using Ethernet backhaul through a TP-Link switch with PoE to power the X50.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

  • The affected devices have dropped from 600 Mbps to just 20-30 Mbps, making it difficult to use devices like my TP-Link Tapo security cameras.
  • Devices experiencing issues: 3 Samsung S21 FE smartphones and 3 Tapo C310 cameras.

I didn't recallTapo C310 could run a speedtest. May I know how you tested the speed on the cameras?

Have you checked whether the three Samsung S21 FE smartphones are connected to the 5GHz of the Deco X50-outdoor?

-If yes, it would be very helpful if you could help me check the wireless link speed on the S21 FE when its speed dropped to 20-30Mbps.

Wait for your reply and best regards.
