Model: Tapo D230S1
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.19

If someone approaches the doorbell and rings it, the recording begins from when they ring the bell.

However if a second or two before ringing they also triggered a motion detection recording, then this 'pre-ring' motion-detected footage is lost (as the event is then classed as a ring, not a motion recording)

Is there a way to keep the motion recording footage from a second or two before the bell was rung?

NB. I'm asking as otherwise, the recording does

not show the delivery driver approach the door and put their package on the ground before they ring the bell

  @MartyMacca

Check which wake-up event type you selected for the doorbell: doorbell Device Settings page in the Tapo app > Detection > Wake-up Settings.

If 'Doorbell Pressed' is selected, the doorbell will only wake up and start recording when someone presses the doorbell.
