Spoke to soon, whilst changing my router improved the connectivity considerably the tp-link still dropped connectivity every now and again, I've thrown it in the bin and switched back to a wireless extender. Won't ever be buying tp-link again.

Try switching off the Wireless Powerline Extender Radio that's connected to your router.

Hello all, has anyone been able to get around the problem of lost wifi signal every now and then?

Maybe it's a fault from this specific model. I also have one other kit from tp-link and it has been working flawlessly for months (2010 kit - 200mbps).

Overlapping Signals?
2015-10-18 23:04:03
Was getting the random connection drop and tried all the standards: restart, pair up again, firmware upgrades, etc. Nothing worked. I then noticed that if I renamed the Powerline network id to something other than my router's network id the problem went away. But I wanted my whole house to have seamless wifi so I began to suspect I was getting overlapping signals causing my machine to have trouble deciding which one to use. So I disconnected two of the three antennas on my router and problem disappeared. Hope this helps someone else!
