Model: TL-PA8010P KIT
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

So, I've connected up the 2 Network Extenders and am only getting about 30 Mb/s download. Whereas, my wi-fi is giving me about 300 Mb/s download. Upload seems to be about 60 Mb/s on Network, and 110 Mb/s on wi-fi.
How can I sort the download without rewiring my whole house?

Thanks in advance,

Hi@Chrispy5,

May I know, is it the wireless speed or wired speed?

If you're experiencing low speed issues when connected to a TP-Link powerline device, there are several potential factors and troubleshooting steps you can take:
    1. Check powerline adapters' placement: Ensure that the powerline adapters are plugged directly into a wall outlet and not into power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords.
    2. Test different electrical outlets and move them into the same room for comparison.
    3. Check powerline rates between the powerline devices via tpPLC utility/App, you could refer to this FAQ to understand the difference between powerline rate and actual internet speed: Explanation about the Powerline Rate and Actual speed of the Powerline Adapters
If the powerline rate is too low, refer to this FAQ to see if it will be better: What can I do if my powerline rate is very low?
    4. If the wired speed is normal, only wireless connection is slow, please try to change the Wi-Fi channel and channel width on the powerline extender.
    5. Check available firmware updates and ensure the powerline adapter and extender are both using the latest firmware.

Hi  @Joseph-TP,

Thanks for the response.

Here is my powerline rate:

But when connected via powerline Adapter I just get this speed:

With Wi-Fi from Router (downstairs) I get:

Hi  @Chrispy5,

You didn't @ my account correctly before, so I didn't see your reply in time.
This speed ratio is low. Please check whether the QoS on your router has set a speed limit for TL-PA8010P? Did you try different Ethernet cable for a comparison?

Have you tried the troubleshooting suggestions I provided before? What is the result?

Hi  @Joseph-TP,

  1. Directly in wall socket.
  2. Tried different socket.
  3. Powerline rates as in previous post.
  4. It's a powerline adapter rather than a powerline extender.
  5. Checked it was up to date.

Thanks for your help. I'm going to send the equipment back for a refund. I don't think the electrical circuits in my house are up to the job.
I may try a wi-fi extender instead.

Hi@Chrispy5,

Powerline products do have relatively high requirements for the electrical environment. You can try Wi-Fi range extender, which may be better, Wi-Fi range extender can boost an existing WiFi network by receiving the wireless signals from your router and repeating them.
