Hi,

I have an 8970 router that is unreliable and in the logs I see this random entry quite frequently.

ppp1 user request

Can someone explain what this is exactly and whether it might be related to my drop outs?

Navigate to Network --> Wan settings --> Edit your PPPoE connection --> WAN Service Setup, unchecked " Enable IPV6" and ensure connection mode is Always on.

thanks for the reply but the router is already set to these;

The only setting that maybe of issue in the WAN Settings is "Max Idle Time" which is set to 15 minutes. I have tried to set it to 0 so it is active at all times but when I hit save it just reverts back to 15 mins. However the logs show the ppp1 user request is much more frequent than this.
