VPN speed issue, could be the router?

Hi,
I have try 3 VPN software
Tunnel Bear, free trial version.
ProtonVPN, Free Trial
And I bought Nord VPN.
All three have the same result: My direct connection without VPN is 2070 Mbps, when I start a VPN my speed drop down at 660 Mbps.
NordVpn support have made me 10 different test on my network and software configuration without result, maximum speed with VPN 660 Mbps.
Is it possible that My router have some configuration or option that force the speed limit with a VPN ON?
Thanks

@Ozk007 Hi there.
It may just be the speed on the vpn providers network is capped. The speed you get with your internet provider does not mean you get that when you tunnel across the network.
I used surfshark and I was capped at 180mbps as this was likited to the area the server is situated. try a vpn connection closer to home, as close as you can then see if the speed improves and that should give you the answer.
also distance to the server and hops may also slow down speeds.
good luck.
paul.

What VPN protocol is used by the VPN client software you've tried?
If you have only used "OpenVPN" so far, then can you please try another protocol like "WireGuard" and test the speed again? According to NordVPN's website they call it the “NordLynx” protocol and it can be selected in the protocol settings of their client software.
