Unable to add LG TV to LG ThinQ app when connected to Deco mesh
I am unable to add my LG OLED TV (LG OLED 55LX1TPSA) to the LG ThinQ app while it is connected to my Deco mesh (BE65). I have previously added an LG refrigerator and an LG washer/dryer to the ThinQ app while both devices are connected to my Deco mesh.
I tried multiple different solutions suggested online:
- checking whether I have a VPN enabled on my phone (none)
- deleting and reinstalling the ThinQ app
- turning off the Quick Start + feature on the TV and power cycling the TV
- factory reseting and power cycling the TV
- ensuring that the TV is connected only to the 2.4 GHz network instead of the 5 GHz network
- ensuring that both the TV and my phone are connected to the 2.4 GHz network and connected to the same Deco
To determine whether the problem is with the TV or with the mesh, I dug up an old Linksys router (WRT 1900 AC), and attempted to add the TV to my ThinQ app while both the TV and my phone were connected to the Linksys router. It worked without any issues.
When I reconnected the TV to my Deco mesh, the TV then showed up as "Disconnected" in the LG ThinQ app. I then tried to connect the TV directly to one of my Deco APs via ethernet, and it shows as back online now. I have not been able to test whether I can add the TV to the ThinQ app when it is connected only via ethernet instead of via WiFi.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems like it's an issue with the Deco. How can I get this fixed?
For reference, I am running the latest available version of the LG ThinQ app (5.0.41431) on an iPhone 13 running iOS 18.3.2.
