this is the version of my router and I also think its a firmware issue. I've even tried to enable DDNS via telnet and it doesn't work, same with syslog.

If i try to restart the DDNS service via telnet message displayed is "Iface not found"

I am looking at 8817 going in full bridge mode and phase in my DD-WRT router.

I do have a few ways to eliminate the router to do the DDNS

- options Synology NAS to do DDNS
- configure my *nix servers with DDNS client

both seem to be working fine.

This TP-Link router is good but it can do a lot better with an updated firmware.

No-IP DDNS

I had problems connecting with my No-IP DDNS and fixed it by changing my password to eliminate special characters. It's a shame that TP-Link does not allow stronger passwords.

Interestingly I hit a similar issue on the 16 march 2016 firmware with the VR900. no-ip sits on "connecting".
A BT HomeHub5 however updates no-ip just fine........

Same problem here.

FW version: 0.9.1 0.1 v0041.0 Build 150514 Rel.54055n

HW version: Archer D9 v1 00000000

No-ip.com stuck in "connecting" phase

Tried the same parameter (and also with fake account) while selecting "dyndns.com" service provider and the same behaviour happen

Does DDNS functionality really work ?

DDNS doesn't update automatically from the router. I have to update the host manually from the NO-IP site.

I use "NO-IP" as my DDNS service but this is error log from the router {dynDNSOrgState: retry fail! shut down service}.

Same here with vr-900v router remains in connecting state, but it had worked for a while before,
maybe no-ip changed something in their host-update-routine??
