Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0.0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 181022 Rel.40644n

Hi,
I'm trying to get NO-IP working on this routers and it will not connect.

Every time I try to login, it shows an error indicating "Authentication error". There is some weird and miraculous moments i hit log in and it works, but it actually doesn't do anything or refresh the IP. If I log in to the router after a few minutes or hours, it shows again "Authentication error".

I've rechecked the password, reset it, even copy+past. It does not work.
Right now, my only way to update the Dynamic IP is to update it on the NO-IP website itself.
The NO-IP app installed works and connected from the network no issues what so ever, but i want to set it on the router and have it update the IP.
It doesn’t even have an interval option to indicate to update ever so often.

I've seen some posts that have indicated that they had the same or similar issue as me and an updated version of the firmware fixed their issue.

Can you help me please? Thanks in advance.

Hello @Diegox , It seems that the issue i had was that it was related to the password special characters.

It seems like having "#" or "&" did not work. The issue only happens on this router, so there must be an issue with the escape or translate of these characters when sending to No-IP.

All i did was change the password to other characters until i found one that worked.

Now all is OK and can connect fine. This info i have already provided to TP-LINK support through email.

Hope this helps, :D

Hi,

Below is the instruction to set it up, please take a picture of the NO-IP settings page and send to us.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1682/

Meanwhile, what is the current internet IP address?

Please send a screenshot of the error message when you tried to login to the router.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Hi,

Settings Dynamic DNS: Made sure there are no strange characters and even copy+past the password in, same copy+past i used to log in to no-ip website.

Current public IP: 77.209.223.115 (subject to change)

@MrSlash Hi, I have exactly same issue using MR6400 v1. With latest Firmware version: 1.0.13 Build 180522 Rel.50341n

I configured no-ip ddns with correct user, password and domain name but at login the staus remain always in Connecting....

Password has only capital and normal letter and number.

Can you help me? Any firmware upgrade to solve the issue?
