Cheapest Decos that allow for client -> Deco connection preference
I think I need to upgrade my S4 mesh to something higher spec that will allow me to set a preferred unit for my PS Portal to connect to. Can anyone recommend the cheapest set of Deco units that will allow me to do this?

Hi, can I have the current firmware for your Deco M4 as well as Deco S4?
Under "Connection Preference", there are #1 "customizing signal source for satellite Deco units" and #2 "customizing connected Deco and connected bands for mobile clients".
Connection Preference: Customize Your Preferred Signal Source
For #1, "customizing signal source for satellite Deco units", it only needs the support of the specific satellite unit.
Both Deco M4_V2_1.7.0 and Deco S4_V2_1.6.1_Beta support this feature:
For #2, "customizing connected Deco and connected bands for mobile clients," it needs the support of all Mesh units.
Deco M4_V2_1.7.0 has added this feature, but Deco S4_V2 has not.
I think you can consider Deco X10, and it is a basic model of WiFi 6 Deco.

Is Deco S4 powerful enough for the PS Portal?
If yes, you can consider Deco M4, which has similar wireless specifications to Deco S4:
Both Deco M4_V2 and V4 now support setting connection preferences for mobile clients.

Thanks for the update. I have one M4 and three S4 units - if I replaced the S4 units with M4 units would that provide the feature I need? Is there a slightly higher spec model than the M4 that I could get which would give me a more future-proof solution (without costing too much more)?

Thanks, it sounds like I need to get some X10 units. I'm running firmware 1.6.2 on my S4s and 1.7.0 (beta) on my M4.
