Model: TD-W9970
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: Firmware version:1.0.0 0.9.1 v009f.0 Build 190419 Rel.34272n

Hi folks.

As mentioned in the title/topic I am struggling completely to work out the bridge mode of the TD-W9970.

I recently purchased a second hand (or new/old stock) TD-W9970 v3. By running the 'Basic Setup Wizard' and using auto-detect, it gets me online using my ISP. Yay! Hence I am currently able to communicate with the outside world & more specifically, this forum. However, I am trying to attach my TpLink Archer 73 AX5400 router (in router mode/ not access point mode) to function as the wifi, DHCP, etc. management - I want the TD-W9970 to be an exclusive modem if possible, leaving the management side to my router. I did some reading up prior on it's abilities as a bridge and from what I saw it was a great success and comes well recommended. Sadly, for me, I have been thoroughly unable to get my router (AX5400) and modem (TD-W9970) to talk to one another.

After a bit of fluffing around I redid the setup-wizard and chose to set up my own ISP details. This came through fine as such, but although it claims to be in bridge-mode, it all seems identical to it's default (modem & router) mode... only now, there's no going on-line. There's no point where I can tell it which ISP i'm with etc.

Any shreds of help will be gratefully received and the immeasurable reward of feeling good about yourself shall be bestowed upon all those who get me through this difficult time...

ps - offtopic, the filter seems a litte sensitive lol

You want to set your DSL modem router in bridge mode and your AX73 in router mode to aoid the double NAT in your network - here's how you shoud do your configuration.

Here's is a srory which does the same - it just uses a different device models.
