Dear TP-Link Support Team,

I am writing to request the enablement of the EasyMesh feature on the Deco X60 (Version 3) through a future firmware update.

I currently own a Deco X60 (Version 3) mesh Wi-Fi system. While I am generally satisfied with its performance, I was disappointed to discover that the EasyMesh functionality, which is available on other Deco models such as the X50 and X55, is not present on my device.

The EasyMesh standard offers significant benefits, including enhanced interoperability with other EasyMesh-certified devices, providing greater flexibility in expanding and managing my home network in the future. Given that the Deco X60 is a capable and relatively recent model, I believe it possesses the hardware capabilities to support this feature.

Enabling EasyMesh on the Deco X60 (Version 3) via a firmware update would greatly enhance its value and align its feature set with other contemporary Deco products. This addition would be highly appreciated by existing users like myself and could also make the Deco X60 a more attractive option for potential customers seeking a versatile and future-proof mesh Wi-Fi solution.

I kindly request that you consider this feature request for future firmware development and provide an update on the feasibility of its implementation.

Hi, what is the model number of your EasyMesh main router/controller?

It is hard to say whether or when EasyMesh will be introduced to Deco X60_V3.

There is still much room for optimization of the EasyMesh function on Deco X50/X55 at present.  It may take some time before this feature is rolled out to other models.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

I have two EasyMesh devices, an Archer AX15 and an Archer C6 v4. Please provide a solution to connect them via EasyMesh, or explain how to enable 5 GHz Band 4 support on a Deco X60 so that I can use 5 GHz on my phone.

Currently, my Deco X60 is experiencing issues connecting to the 5 GHz network. I am located in Bangladesh, where mobile devices commonly operate on Band 4 (channels 149-165) within the 5 GHz frequency range. It appears that the current firmware on my Deco X60 does not support these higher channels.

The absence of Band 4 support is limiting the compatibility of my Deco X60 with local devices and hindering my ability to fully utilize the 5 GHz band. Furthermore, the lack of manual channel selection makes it difficult to troubleshoot and optimize the Wi-Fi network for the best performance in my specific environment. I understand that newer Deco models, such as the Wi-Fi 7 series, offer manual channel selection, highlighting the value and feasibility of this feature.

Hi, as for the 5 GHz band issue, you have already made a post, and the post has been answered correctly. If the Deco X60_V3 is purchased from the local market in BD, it is supposed to work on band 4. Otherwise, there is no temporary solution to force it to work on band 4.

I'm afraid there hasn't been a workaround for Deco X60 to support EasyMesh and be wirelessly connected to the Archer EasyMesh network. It seems like you only had one Deco X60 but two Archer EasyMesh routers, and the Deco X60 doesn't support band 4 either. In general, returning the Deco X60 and getting one more EasyMesh Archer router or range extender would be a quick solution.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

My Deco X60 warranty is over, so I am unable to return it.

Furthermore, I've noticed an interesting behavior: when I added my Deco X60 to my friend's Deco M4 system (both devices were purchased in Bangladesh), my 5GHz network broadcast on channel 161. In contrast, when I use the Deco X60 as the main unit, the 5GHz broadcast is limited to channels 32 through 48.

  @Hemonta_Dev

Thanks for the update.

While I do confess you have found an excellent workaroundblush.

As band 1 is more widely used for 5 GHz, if there is no special local WiFi regulation, the general US version would still prefer using band 1, instead of band 4.

The wireless settings of the satellite Deco are copied from the main unit if the satellite unit is capable of band 4. (For example, if you have an EU version of Deco X60, it can't use channel 161.) The Deco M4 should be the correct version specialized in Bangladesh, not your Deco X60.

I'm afraid there is no updated news on when or where Deco X60 will support channel selection.

If you keep the purchase receipt from the local store, it is recommended to contact local technical support to see whether they can help you change to a proper unit:

Thank you very much.

  @David-TP

I have already visited the local service center and the head office in our country, but they were unable to assist me.

You are my last hope; please provide me with a beta firmware so that I can easily use EasyMesh and channels 149-165 on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band.

Hi, I truly appreciate your trust.  If there were ever such a beta firmware, please know that I would ensure to share it with you in the first replyblush.

Best regards.
