Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.14 Build 20241223 Rel. 16551

Hello,

I cannot seem to find a way to change the DHCP lease time from it's default.  It appears to be 60 minutes (1hour).  I would much rather this be a much longer time - generally 24hrs.  Why is there no setting for this?  Otherwise, setup of the network was very simple and simply worked pretty much right out of the box which I must say, was a great feeling.  However, this is a "PRO" router.  It should have something that is this simple to change.  When could I expect an update with this feature?

Warmest Regards,

Jason

  @jgurley30

Hi, welcome to the community.

The default DHCP release time is 2h.

May I know why you plan to set it to 24h?

I see 120mins/2h is a very common DHCP release time that has been used for most WiFi routers.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

To be honest it doesn't really matter why I want to change it.  There are ways around it, static ip and all that.  Im not interested in ways around it, which you will undoubtedly help me find.

You wrote: I see 120mins/2h is a very common DHCP release time that has been used for most WiFi routers.  I disagree.  However,  being able to change the dhcp lease time is very common and is also in most wifi routers.  Further the router in question is the "pro" version is it not?  Why wouldn't it have a few extra adjustments?

This forum is full of the same request to be able to change the dhcp lease time.  Why doesn't tplink just bite the bullet and add the change.  It just isn't that difficult to put in. It's just making TPlink look weak when clearly you have a really great product.

Warmest Regards,

Jason.
