  @KevinComo

Hi, thank you very much for the message.

There is no need to segregate the Ethernet Backhaul physically from the LAN network. The LAN devices, as well as the satellite Deco, could be connected to the same LAN switch, then to the main Deco.

Deco APP is the only method to configure and manage the Deco system. Apart from the web UI, there is no other browser-based admin tool.

The moment you open the Deco APP, the network status might be a cached version, but it will be fresh and updated in the next few seconds. The Ethernet Backhaul should be updated immediately(~2s), and no need for a restart.

Best regards.

Thanks David. Even so I tried all combinations - with a 2.5gb or 1.0gb switch - it's just so unpredictable and unreliable I start to lose hope with this hardware. I give you an example. Connect a previously wirelessly connected M5 to my switch upstairs - by miracle I see a wired connection. I move this exact same switch to another room with an ethenet connection to the same switch that it worked (tested with a PC) - and it point blank refuses to go wired again. The app is also a bit disappointing in that it holds onto stale information for way to look. I check my Deco network and say 'everything looks good' - i then unplug an M5 from the power and yet the app stays convinced that it's online for at least 10 minutes - even when you refresh or close/reopen the app. Imagine how disappointing it is when you have a 2.5gbps ethernet cable in the room where people access internet. You run a CLI based speedtest and get 1995mbs speed. You connect an M4 or M5 and it refuses to switch to Ethernet. Even more weird - and makes me wonder if I am even wasting my time trying to get this ethernet backhaul working. When I connect to the M5 on that rare occasion that is shows as ethernet backhauled - I run a speedtest and get <100mb - even if the M5 (where my active client session is hosted) has a 0.5 Cat7 cable to a 2.5gbps switch. It's such a shame - I am now thinking my only option is to install an old Zyxel router in that room connected to the LAN and broadcasting on a different SSID since the Deco hardware and software is so unpredictable. Everything is on latest firmware and is connected with professional (not home made) ethernet cables. What on earth could be going so drasically wrong ? Many thanks. Kevin
