Bluetooth Microphone Not Working Properly on Windows 11 (TP-Link UB500)
Hello,
I recently purchased the TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.3 Nano USB Adapter to connect my AirPods Pro 2 to my desktop PC.
On Windows 10, everything worked perfectly — both audio output and microphone input were stable and reliable.
However, after upgrading to Windows 11, the microphone stopped working properly:
-
The AirPods connect, but when I speak, only the first 1–2 seconds are transmitted, then audio cuts out.
-
From that point on, the Bluetooth connection becomes unstable — it disconnects and reconnects every second, making the microphone completely unusable.
-
The sound output also starts to fail intermittently after the mic is activated.
I’ve tested this across multiple voice apps and the issue is consistent.
What I tried so far:
-
Installed the latest U500 driver from support page, and install again: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/ub500 .
-
Updated all Windows 11 drivers.
-
Disabled Bluetooth power saving options.
-
Set AirPods as the default audio and input device.
-
Tried using scripts to keep the mic “locked” via software.
-
Uninstall the TP-Link driver and reinstall it again using the device manager.
-
Un-Paired the AirPods and re-paired them again.
- Reboot system.
- Swtich USB port.
Still, the issue persists.
This seems to be a driver-level problem specific to Windows 11.
Please advise:
-
Is there a driver update planned for full Windows 11 support?
-
Is there a known workaround to stabilize microphone input via UB500?
Thank you.
Sara
