Model: Tapo D230S1
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I'm facing a distance issue with my smart doorbell. It is too far from the hub and has a poor signal. I can still get the notifications and occasionally it loads the live camera picture but when I have an actual ring from a guest it never loads the video. I could move the hub connected with wifi, close to the doorbell, but then in the house probably I wouldn't hear the doorbell ringing only get the notification and the view on the camera. My Idea would be to buy an extra hub to put it close to the doorbell. Can I connect 1 doorbell to 2 hubs at the same time so both hubs are functioning? Maybe one is muted and the other hub rings the bell? Thank you for your response!

The doorbell supports pairing with multiple Tapo chimes or hubs for the ringing feature, regardless of whether the camera is linked with the hub.

On the doorbell Device Settings page in the Tapo app, go to Doorbell and choose Paired Chimes. On this page, you can integrate the Tapo hubs or chimes that will ring simultaneously when the doorbell is pressed.

This connection works over the Internet, so as long as each device has a strong signal (either through WiFi, ethernet, or the hub) and is connected to the internet, the feature will function properly without needing the doorbell to be within the signal range of all hubs.
