Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 Build 20240911 Rel53484

Hi All, I am struggling to get this kit working properly and have the following setup:

Virgin Media Hub 6

Main Deco plugged into Virgin Router - working well

2nd Deco plugged in at open plan area of house, connecting via wifi - working well

3rd Deco - I am attempting to connect via cat 6 cable to the main deco, this 3rd Deco is located in another building approx. 25 meters away. I must be missing something with the setup, I also have a homepod and a homepod mini on the network

I rang Virgin Media today to put the hub in modem mode but had no joy...... :(

Is it a case that if I have setup the Main Deco as wireless, I cannot setup another one via ethernet?

I would appreciate any ideas

Thanksd

Hi, welcome to the community.

Would there be any chance that you could take the 3rd Deco X10 back to the main house, then connect via a short cable(1-2m) to the main Deco X10 to test whether the Ethernet Backhaul works or not?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hi David, thanks for the note back.

Yep I did that this AM and now can see the 3rd Deco is connected via ethernet (it worked in the house and I got it working in the office as i changed a patch lead)

BUT

Im still missing something as when I connect to tje office DECO, it gives me the error when I connect to it with an iphone 'unable to join th enetwork'.

I know I am close as:

The DECO light is green

On the DECO app I can see its connected via ethernet

On the deco app it says it has a strong signal

BUT

it also says Okbps downloaded and uploaded

I tried to switch the DECO to access point and that did not work either?

Thanks again - appreciate it

  @DK_DUB

Thanks for the update.

"it also says Okbps downloaded and uploaded"

-It refers to the real-time speed rate of this Deco(How to Understand Speed Rates on the Deco APP). I think it is because currently, no devices are connected to this Deco.

--Have you tested with other mobile devices? Did they behave the same?

There is a new version 1.2.0 for Deco X10. It is in the release process now. If you're interested, you can install this version here:

Deco X10_1.2.0 Added VPN, IoT network and Wi-Fi Access Control

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Morning, thanks again for the message.

I connected my mac and my wifes iphone successfully so I forgot the wifi on my phone and it connected successfully.

It looks to be working well but one small thing is on the app it still shows very little throughput in terms of Kbps download and upload.

I might upgrade the software later but certainly it looks better

Appreciate all of your help
