Model: Archer VR1210v
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Archer_VR1210vv2_0.1.0_2.0.0_UP_BOOT_agc3000(240527)

I try to access to the VR1210v router thru OpenVPN connection but the "406 Not Acceptable" error appears on my browser.

i.e. my PC is a remote client OpenVPN of VR1210v connected to the router via internet connection. The VPN connection runs correctly,  the PC acquires the VPN IP address, ping of router responses correctly and also I can access to the router via ssh connection but the web interface doesn't run. All the try a web access a 406 Not Acceptable error message appears.

NOTE1: When I acces to the router locally the web interface runs correctly.

NOTE2: I know that is possible enable the direct access to the router from internet but I won't enable the remote access flag on Administration for security resons.

Can be a bug?

Hi @Battista,

Thank you for your reply.

If it is a product provided by an ISP, we usually recommend contacting the ISP in advance.

Indeed, after confirmation, this product in your area is also sold through conventional channels.
However, it is still an ISP customized product.

Of course, I reported your problem to the relevant department, and the reply I got was: Archer VR1210v cannot be managed externally without enabling remote access.

For other conventional DSL modems, it is basically impossible to directly access the web UI through openvpn.

Thank you.

  @Joseph-TP

Hi Joseph,

thank for your reply but your idea isn't applicable because my router isn't Service Provider Customized.

The URL https://www.tp-link.com/it/home-networking/dsl-modem-router/archer-vr1210v/ show my device. I have buy the device on Amazon, not from Service Provider.

Sorry for my bad English.
