VPN server on mr505
Hi
Can the vpn server feature be added to the next version of firmware for the mr505 router?
Hi, thanks for the feedback.
There hasn't been a plan to support a VPN server on Archer MR505.
As most SIM carriers use CGNAT service, the 4G router hardly receives a public IP address. If the VPN server is behind a double NAT, you might need to request external access from the SIM ISP side as well as configure port forwarding on the Archer router.
Would there be any specific reason that you want to set a VPN server on Archer MR505?
Best regards.
@David-TP I currently use MR200 which has a vpn server, but the vpn server does not support the latest tls version. The static ip address issue is resolved using dyndns. Also no support for 4g+ network.
The reason for the vpn server, the ability to manage devices remotly behind the router, without opening up ports.
The spec on the site says its support the vpn server.
