t2u can't see 5ghz wifi 5 years later
Hi, I run my home network thru a samsung phone on a 5G connection and I am trying to maximise speed for the few occassions when I am downloading a game. But I can only get 40mbps on 2.4ghz and it wont detect 5ghz. My phone can get over 500mbps on a bad day. But usb tethering will only give around 300mbps.
I see posts on here about this issue going back 5 years and tp link saying they would send info to engineers and I assume there would be a fix by now.
FYI - I have had a brief look on my phone and I dont see how I can change wifi channel.
Money is not good so I could do with a working solution. I have spent enough money so please please please have a solution.
win 11 - I dont know where to find what firmware is on the adapter. I downloaded the latest V3 driver.
FYI - on chrome no capture so can't post.

Hi,
The same thing applies to TP-Link's Wi-Fi range extenders and also Wi-Fi routers. If it is an "EU" version, then it does not support the 5 GHz channels 149 and above.

Hi@squeezedin,
Thank you for contacting our community.
Please verify if your network card is the EU version. If it is an EU version, be aware that currently, our network cards of EU version do not support the 5G channels 149 and above. We recommend adjusting the router settings to change the 5G channel to 36 and checking if the network card can then scan for 5G Wi-Fi.
Take TP-Link router for an example to change channel: Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo)
Thank you~

Yes, I am in the uk so I assume an EU version. But I did say I have no control over the channels and I am a little mistified this hasn't been solved 5 years later.

I have just received a T3u Plus and guess what....
You guys haven't updated that either, to work with existing channels. It just doesn't see 5ghz and a search shows your company has been promsing to solve this for years too, but has still not solved it.
So I ask you, are they going to fix it and I wait or have you no real idea and I should give up on tp link ?

So, if i buy a wifi extender, will IT be able to connect to the 5GHZ on the phone and then relay it ?
