When it loses connection, how about status of all lights on W8968?
Can you login its web interface?
What's the hardware version and firmware version of your W8968? Did you upgrade the latest firmware?

Are you facing an issue similar to the one in the below thread? I had issues with my W8968 v3 router, I think it got fixed after disabling IGMP SNOOPING. By the by are you just losing the connectivity or does the router restarts?

all lights are on - except for the Globe Icon , which means the Wifi network is active - but the internet is inactive
Yes i am able to login into the web interface
I have V3 as H/W version - not sure whether V4 should solve the issue or add more troubles ??

Enable syslog in debug level and capture the msgs that occur when you lose reachability to the internet and paste it here. Also in the web interface check the WAN status(does that show "down"). You can only upgrade the hardware version (from v3) of your router by replacing/purchasing V4 router. But you will be able update the firmware, from tp-link website. verify whether you are running the latest firmware.

I am not sure if Freeware - "1.0.5 Build 150512 Rel.42337 " is synchronous with H/W V3
Well as per the syslog

It seems that current firmware of your W8968 is the latest version.

Try to disable UPnP to see if it helps. If not, maybe it is a faulty unit.

In addition to what Vivian said, can you check whether your RJ45 socket/lock is broken (both ends). If you have another router can you test whether you are facing the same issue on that one as well? Alternatively you can test it by connecting it to a PC and monitoring the ethernet status. This way we can Isolate that the issue is not regarding the cable. If you are still seeing the ethernet connection going down after a cable swap then it might be a hardware issue.
