Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.7

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly getting really frustrated. I bought six Deco X55 units from TP-Link last week – spent around €500 – and the system keeps rebooting itself multiple times a day. The main unit randomly restarts, drops the whole network for a couple of minutes, and then comes back. This happens even when no one is using the internet heavily.

I’ve already tried:

  • Updating the firmware

  • Swapping which unit is the main one

  • Resetting the network

  • Changing power cables and outlets

Nothing helps. When the main unit reboots, the satellite units all go offline as well, which takes down internet access for the whole house. For the price I paid, I expected something far more reliable.

Is this a known issue with the Deco X55? Could I have received a defective unit? I’m seriously considering returning the whole setup unless there’s a real fix.

Appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Have you noticed any LED changes during the reboot process?

May I know your internet service provider? How about the model number of the ISP fiber/cable modem/ONT?

Later, I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers to see whether they could help us check whether it is hardware-related or something else.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
