  @David-TP Hello,

will there be an update as suggested in initial post ? Deactivate all internal antennas when external antennas are activated ? I can barely load this forum page in 2025.

  @Thomas1234

NX200 and NX600 modems have two external antennas with SMA connectors, but not all of the modem’s antennas are “free”.

The external SMA ports are connected only to the 5G radio modules , this explains why, even when installing a “4G + 5G” antenna, reception improves only on 5G.

If the modem’s circuit connects the SMA ports only to the 5G channels, 4G will still rely on the internal antennas.

In this case, a software update alone won’t help: a different radio board design would be required.

That's why I believe no firmware update will ever be released to fix this problem.

Re:NX200 - Nx600 external antennas and misleading product information
Saturday
Hi everyone, I’ve noticed some comments saying that external antennas on the NX600 only work for 5G. In my experience, that’s not the case. I’m currently using an external Pointing antenna with Hyperflex 10 cabling, and it significantly improves the signal on LTE bands as well. For example, the B7 band in my area is about 1.2 km away. Without the external antenna, I’d barely get it (~120 dB). With the antenna, I’m getting ~87 dB — a strong and stable signal. This clearly shows that the antenna benefits LTE bands too, not just 5G. So, external antennas do enhance reception for both LTE and 5G, as long as the antenna is compatible and correctly installed. Hope this helps clarify things. Best regards

I can confirm that the external antennas do improve 4g on my NX200 aswell.
The closest BTS is 4.5km, witouth antenna RSRP for 5g and 4g is far worse then -100dbm. With my external Yagi antenna i get n78 rsrp -87dbm, and b28 -83dbm.

Maybe its because of older device or firmware. I have latest firmware and Eu 2.20 nx200.

Edit: Ok i did further tests and the other guys are right probably, 4g might not be improved using external antenna.
