Model: Archer VR2800v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.3.0 0.9.1 v006c.0 Build 170809 Rel.42095n

Hi,

It's been a long time since I upgraded my broadband but I am thinking of doing this now as my contract has come up for renewal. My current broadband is FTTC and I am thinking of opting for the 150mbps FTTP package from Community Fibre and I was wondering if the VR2800 would work with this. Would there be any benefit in upgrading the router to something like TP-Link AX5400? If so what would the benefits be? What settings would I need to get from the ISP to use a TP-Link router.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Hi@greshoff1,

Thank you for contacting our community.

I noticed that you asked this question in another post, so I suggest you reply here as well.
Do you need to change to an Ethernet cable connection? You can ask your new internet service provider (ISP) for details.

The Archer VR2800 supports wireless router mode, allowing it to meet your new network needs.
I suggest you reset first, then configure the VR2800 to wireless router mode:

How to reset: How to reset TP-Link xDSL modem router to factory defaults

How to configure: How to configure the wireless router mode
