It is exciting to announce that a new version of the Deco App is coming soon with various optimizations that will enhance accessibility through the use of assistive technologies.

 

What's New

  • Added options to adjust font size and color contrast.
  • Enhanced accessibility features for VoiceOver/TalkBack.
  • Improved color contrast.

  @David-TP Nice to see there are improvments for accessibility!

I see a lot of positive changes, especially on the Deco list and for some states, which a really good point.

However, there is still no possibility to be sure app logs will be sent when contacting support, because this interface use the web page from support, which have not been updated at all.

It make not possible for screen reader user to reliably report issue within attaching system logs. Will support pages be updated to improve accessibility?

  @David-TP I notice a strange behavior when configuring DHCP settings:

Go to More->Advanced->DHCP Server

TalkBack announces "1-1440 error: please type lease duration" (In French it is "Erreur : veuillez saisir la durée du bail").

Other point, each time I start the Deco app I ear the message failed to refresh network (In French : "échec de l'actualisation du réseau"). But some seconds after, the network state is updated successfully.

I have a Pixel 8A, Android 16.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

I tested on the IOS App, and the engineer helped me test on the Android OS. When we double tap the screen, it is able to check the "Add system logs" box and submit the App Feedback.

The Web Support Accessibility is also planned to be optimized.

 

I didn't run into the DHCP server errors over VoiceOver and have reported it to the senior engineer first. Hope they can reproduce on their side and make some necessary improvements on the official version.

Hi, nice to see you again. 

It would be a wonderful idea to integrate  AI into the Deco App. If it happens, I'm sure Deco would be more popular.

It is also suggested to start a new thread so other users can vote to add more support and add their brilliant ideas for the Deco AI future design blueprint

@David-TP Let's hope this update fixes the issues with dark mode...some of the icons have been invisible since the feature rolled out

  @David-TP Thanks for your reply.

Yes, by double-taping it is possible to check the box to send the app log as it seams but it is not possible to check if it is checked or not I.E. TalkBack does not announce if it is enabled or not.

The only thing we have is our intuition, which is not enough to be sure an option is enabled or not.

And what I noticed when submitting logs is I had no reply at all from TP-Link support, no confirmation any ticket was created last time I tried.

I hop I explained better the situation.
