Hi,

 

Does anyone know why I might be getting slower speeds when my satellite Deco is wired to the main Deco router vs when it is wirelessly connected? 
 

The satellite is a few metres away at the other side of the house, so I've ran a cat 7 cable from the main XE75 pro router to the satellite so it's guaranteed a strong connection. However, the WiFi speed I get from this satellite when wired is circa 90mbps, where as when remove the wired connection to the main Deco router I get circa 450mbps, similar speed to the main (albeit with medium signal strength)

 

Does anyone know why the speed is slower when wired, and how I get the wired connection speed to match the wireless?

 

I've tried rebooting all the Decos and all have latest firmware, it used to work at c450 when I bought it 3 months ago so can't work out what's gone wrong....

Hi, welcome to the community.

There might be something wrong with the Ethernet Backhaul between two Decos. It seems the current Ethernet Backhaul connection speed is only 100Mbps.

Did it help to change the Ethernet ports on both the main Deco and the satellite unit?

- As there are 1*2.5G+2*1G ports on a single Deco XE75 Pro, does the Ethernet cable connect both 1G ports, or is one side 2.5G, and the other side 1G

 

If there is one more Ethernet cable, it is also suggested to replace a new cable.

thanks for the below, 

 

Ive ensured the cables are both coming out of 2.5gbps ports and tested the speed - still tops out at 95mbps, even when swapping the ethernet cable to the 1gbps ports it still delivers these speed. I've rebooted each time and even swapped the satellite with the other satellite to see if what was a fault with the device, but got the same result...


Also attempted another users solution involving removing the cable and the reinserting, but sadly no luck...

 

Will pick up a replacement cable, do a test this evening and report back to see if the cable is the culprit, but not hopeful...
