Hardware Version : Not Clear

Hello i have a tp-link w8961nd v3. I downloaded the firmware from the website but every time it gives me the error: ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE! The uploaded file was not accepted by the router.
Another thing i discovered is that the current firmware version of my router is: Build 141023 Rel.24209 whereas the newest version on the website is 140305.
When i googled the new version it appeared as a version for the tp-link w8961n router.
Can anyone help me?

We should find out correct model number and hardware version on device itself.
What's the model number and hardware version showing on the bottom of your router itself?
Provide the photo.

Wow...if so, you don't need to upgrade the router as the firmware is the latest already. Any problem with your internet connection?

well each couple of days i have to reboot my router because i can't access the router's address anymore. a reboot fixes this. not a big problem but i thought a firmware update could fix this. Thanks anw

To disable UPnP may help. On its web interface, go to Access Management---UPnP to do that.
