Model: Archer BE800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20240808-rel26673

Hi there,

Last evening, as I was checking my BE800 configuration, I got a notification in the TP Link web panel that there is a new firmware version available. I agreed to upgrade, the firmware image was downloaded automatically, uploaded to the device and it rebooted.

After the reboot it stopped working. The router starts its boot procedure and ends it with an exclamation mark on the front LED panel. It does not broadcast any SSID that it should and it also does not hand out any IPs from its DHCP server. Connecting to it via cable is not possible - connection cannot be established, network card is not getting any IP.

What I tried is I first reset to factory settings - same story, no SSID is being broadcast at all, wired connection does not work either.

I then booted the router into recovery mode (pressed the Reset pin for 10 seconds), downloaded the latest firmware from TP Link website (the latest one available on TP Link website for my region is dated August 2024) and uploaded it to the router. Firmware was processed and the device was rebooted only to show exactly the same faulty behavior.

My BE800 is a V1 hardware version for EU territory.

Any hints, or should I just RMA it?

Hi@neoheresy,

Welcome to our community.

The exclamation mark means that the router has no network. But the router stops broadcasting the SSID and it's like the router is bricked.

If you don't mind, can you record the router reboot process as a video and send it to support.forum@tp-link.com, attaching [Forum ID 828800] and details, and we will have a dedicated person to assist in analysis and follow-up.
