Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20250318 rel.31873(4555)

The qos settings don't work, in fact they make me get worse results.

I am leaving the bufferbloat test results before and after QOS in the photos.
For the Mercusys router I used to use, I had the same menu and the same settings and I got much better bufferbloat test results.

I have also tried different QOS settings but no good results.

Hello@eXceps ,

Welcome to our community.

Have you tried turning off QoS for comparison, by chance?

What are the clients?

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—router)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

It would be best for you to first confirm the actual value of the uplink/downlink bandwidth through a speed test tool (such as http://speedtest.com/). In the QoS settings, adjust the total bandwidth to 90%-95% of the actual bandwidth.

  @Joseph-TP
- Yes I turned off QoS completely to try, above is the image of the bufferbloat test I did with QoS completely turned off.

- I run the tests on my wired computer, which I prioritize.

-My network topology as shown in the image below is ISP Modem - BE230 - Clients

-This is my internet speed with QoS settings turned off completely.

-I set QoS to be ~95% of my normal speed.

-My bufferbloat test after this adjustment.

Hi@eXceps,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Please refer to the FAQs below to collect system logs and backup files of the router:

How to view and save System Log of TP-Link wireless router

How to create and restore from a backup file on your TP-Link Router

Then email the logs and backup files to support.forum@tp-link.com, attaching [Forum ID 829284] and details, and we will have a dedicated person to assist in analysis and follow-up.

  @eXceps

The same thing happened to me. I updated the firmware on my AX6600 Wi-Fi 6 Tri-Band Gaming Router to version 1.2.3 Build 20250603 rel. 66228(5553)
and my bufferbloat tests went through the roof, and it seems like QoS isn't working as it should.

Hi @Mich_28 ,

Can you provide detailed information, screenshots, and test results about the QoS settings on Archer BE230?
We attach great importance to this issue and have arranged for relevant technicians to analyze the problem further. If there is any update, we will update it here as soon as possible.

  @Joseph-TP Just bought this router today and can see the same issue happening with me. Qos makes bufferbloat worse and this is funny because I upgraded from archer c6 and Qos reduced bufferbloat a lot there meanwhile this somehow performs worse than that.

Re:AX6600 GX90 QOS is not working good

  @Joseph-TP

Hello,

I’m experiencing severe QoS issues after updating my TP-Link GX90 AX6600 router to firmware version 1.2.3 Build 20250603 rel. 66228(5553). Even with QoS set to 100 Mbps for both upload and download, I’m getting significant bufferbloat, while my actual internet speed is 650 Mbps.

Additionally, the router has started entering continuous reboot loops after this update. I never experienced these issues before when using 300 Mbps up and down, and QoS worked fine.

Could you please advise on how to resolve these problems or if a rollback to the previous firmware is possible?

Thank you.
