internet led shows orange

I'm having problems getting my new modem to connect to the internet. During configuration when testing the connection I get the message that there is no internet connection.and the internet led is orange. The led has been orange from the frst boot up and when doing a factory reset when the lights all flash, the internet light is still orange so I think yhe modem may be faulty. I have checked login details and the cables are connected properly, they are the same cables used on my old modem which works properly. Any advice please.

@Joseph-TP Thanks for that, have done so but I intend having a last attempt using direct LAN connection to PC built in network controller instead of using wireless.

@terziyski Thanks, I have done what you suggest with no luck. I am going to try a new phone cable even though the existing one works perfectly. I'll get back later.

Hi@NeLad,
Welcome to our community.
Is the DSL light flashing? That means DSL synchronization is in progress.
Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot:
1. Remove the DSL splitter and replace a new DSL cable if possible.
2. Reset the modem by pressing the reset pinhole at the back of the modem for 7-10 seconds while it is powered on.
3. Unplug the TP-Link modem and connect your old DSL modem back to verify if it's an ISP service issue.

Hi@NeLad,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Do you mean the internet source has an Ethernet cable? If yes, you need to change the modem to work in wireless router mode:

@Joseph-TP No, the source is a dsl line from the wall adaptor. I had the internet operating using the old modem and the wireless network adaptor with the PCs built in adaptor disabled. So I disabled the wireless adaptor and re-enabled the built in adaptor and connected to the PC from the modem with an ethernet cable and I could then complete the installation. Thanks for the video but I find it difficult using my smart phone to do the setup - big fingers for small keys. Cheers.
