Model: Archer AX21
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi, so I've got this question.

Right now I have two routers in easy mesh.
The main one is an Archer AX21, and the satellite one is an ArcherAX10, they're connected through an ethernet cable.

I'm planning to add a third router, but because of the structure of my house, the easiest would be to pull an ethernet cable from the satellite router to the new router I plan to install.

My question is, would this setup work, can I connect a new router as satellite from a satellite router ethernet port, or do I need to connect it to the main router?

Installation
Archer AX21 (Main) ---- ArcherAX10 (Satellite) ---- New Router (Satellite)

Asking because if not possible I'd probably go for an easymesh compatible powerline device from tplink instead of another router

Hi@davidgcs,

Welcome to our community.

If you want to connect the second satellite router to the first satellite router, it is recommended to connect through the LAN ports.
Of course, we recommend that the satellite router is directly connected to the main router. Otherwise, there may be line instability that may cause a loop.

Best Regards.

In general - EasyMesh uses a star topology, meaning all satellite devices connect directly to the main router, not to each other.

Adding a satellite router to another satellite router would cause both a bandwidth bottleneck and a single point of failure.
