Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010

Hello!

Previously, I had owned two Deco M5s and one M4R to cover my entire house. Everything was working fine. I had a stable connection and fast speeds. I decided to replace my M5s with two X50s (AX3000) after I broke one of them by spilling water and short-circuiting it.

I placed my brand new X50s and, to my surprise, my connection started fluctuating. It randomly began losing connection with some devices from time to time, and the speed fluctuated a lot.

I know that this is not related to my ISP provider, because some devices work perfectly at the same time that another one loses connection to the internet.

Rebooting the router works sometimes, but the problem returns in minutes.

I updated to the latest version of the firmware, but it seems to not solve the problem (1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010).

Also, I optimize my network to search frequently and I tried to use QoS to prioritize some devices, but it did not solve as well. I placed the new Deco's in the same spot as the previous, so coverage shouldn't be a problem.

Can someone help me or share tips on how to check for solutions?

Thank you!

  @David-TP

I checked many things and finally found the culprit.

It was an old Cat5 Ethernet cable connecting my ISP modem to the main Deco. I replaced it with a Cat6 cable, and everything started working normally.

  @Adailto

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have some screenshots of your network map, such as:

How about the model numbers of the mobile devices that constantly dropped out?

Please also test the following suggestions:

1. Set the IPV4 DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4: How to change DNS server settings on my Deco

2. Turn off "fast roaming" and "beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi, thank you!

Sorry to reply after so much time.

Bellow, is my network map:

About the devices that are dropping, some of the smartphones are an iPhone 16 PM, iPhone 13 PM, Samsung S24 Ultra, Samsung S23 Ultra. Regarding Smart TV's, we have a Samsung Crystal Series 8 and a TCL. Also, I have an Asus Rog Ally X and a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 laptop. All of them, facing random drops from time do time.

About the suggestions, I will change and try for one day to see if it improves.

Thank you!

Hi @David-TP!

I think it improved, but just a little.

I am still facing random drops and unstable speeds.

Regards.
