Model: Archer AX80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20250113 rel. 53544

Dear TP-Link Team,
Cc @Joseph-TP

I'm currently using the AX80 as my main router, and I truly appreciate its strong performance. However, I would like to request several firmware-level improvements that could significantly enhance user experience and network optimization, especially for advanced users in the Indonesia region.

Here are the features I'd like to request:

1. Manual Channel Bandwidth Selection for 5 GHz

Currently, the AX80 uses dynamic bandwidth (20/40/80/160 MHz) without a manual override. Please consider enabling manual selection of channel bandwidth, such as:

  • 20 MHz only

  • 40 MHz only

  • 80 MHz only

  • 160 MHz only

This would help greatly with compatibility and stability, especially in congested Wi-Fi environments.

2. Expanded 5 GHz Channel Range Support (up to Channel 161, Non-DFS)

In Indonesia region, many users can benefit from channels 149–161, which are non-DFS and provide better stability for streaming/gaming.
Currently, these channels are missing or locked. Please consider:

  • Unlocking channels 149, 153, 157, and 161

  • Providing full non-DFS and DFS channel control separately in the UI

3. Beamforming On/Off Control

Beamforming is always on by default, with no user toggle. While it’s generally beneficial, some users prefer to disable it for testing or specific client compatibility.
Requesting a Beamforming ON/OFF toggle in the web UI (Advanced Wireless Settings).

4. QoS Controller with Bandwidth Limit per Device

The current QoS only offers prioritization profiles (e.g., Gaming, Streaming). Please consider adding an advanced QoS controller, allowing:

  • Bandwidth cap per device (Download/Upload)

  • Manual priority levels

  • Realtime traffic shaping

This is especially useful in shared home networks or with capped ISP plans.

5. Firmware Update Focused on Stability (5 GHz performance and DFS behavior)

While performance is great overall, there are occasional issues such as:

  • Inconsistent signal lock or drop on DFS channels (e.g., Channel 56/100)

  • Slight jitter spikes in some real-time applications

A future firmware update that improves 5 GHz band stability, especially in DFS handling and beamforming performance, would be greatly appreciated.

We hope these suggestions are considered in future firmware releases. Thank you for your support and dedication to improving the user experience!

Best regards,

Lemarc

Hi Joseph,

Just following up on the AX80 feature request I submitted earlier — really appreciate that you’ve logged it and forwarded it to the team.

I understand development takes time, but I wanted to kindly check if there has been any internal feedback or consideration from the team regarding the requested features, especially:

Manual bandwidth selection (20/40/80/160 MHz)

Full non-DFS channel access up to Channel 161 for Indonesia region

Beamforming on/off toggle

Advanced QoS control with per-device bandwidth limit

General 5GHz stability improvements via firmware update

These features would be extremely helpful for users in the Indonesia region, particularly those with high-speed fiber and multiple smart devices.

Thanks again for your time, and I’m happy to provide any supporting info if needed!

Best regards,

Lemarc
