Model: Archer AX80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20250718

Hello Everyone,

We're thrilled to announce the release of the pre-release firmware for Archer AX80 V1. This firmware update introduces several exciting new functions and improvements to enhance your experience, including DoH/DoT, EasyMesh in AP mode, Satellite Router Management, ECO Mode, etc. We encourage you to try out this version of firmware and take advantage of the following features. Your feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

New Features and Modifications:

1. Added Ethernet Backhaul for EasyMesh.
2. Added EasyMesh feature in AP mode.
3. Enhanced EasyMesh Satellite Router Management via satellite router web interface.
4. Added EasyMesh Network Topology to gain a clear understanding of your EasyMesh network's structure.

5. Added ECO mode on Advanced > System > ECO Mode page.

When working in Power-Saving Mode or Ultra Power-Saving Mode, your router reduces power consumption to conserve energy. Please note that this also results in a reduction in network speed and coverage.

6. Added IoT Network.

7. Enhanced Wi-Fi Schedule to enjoy more flexibility by setting separate schedules for 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands.

8. Added isolation of Guest Network and Main Network in AP mode.
9. Added support for VPN Client.

10. Added support for WireGuard.

11. Added OpenVPN Server TAP Mode. Introducing TAP Mode in OpenVPN Server for AX55 V1 Router

Note: It requires your OpenVPN Client supporting TAP Mode as well, or you will not be able to connect to the VPN Server successfully

12. Added new functions to the Tether App: EasyMesh, OpenVPN Server/Client, ECO Mode, Wireless Schedule, Guest Portal Network

Note:  Please use the new Tether App to experience those new features: New UI for 11AX Routers on Tether App 4.3 version is Ready for Trial

13. Added User Experience Improvement Program (UEIP).

Please participate in our UEIP during the Quick Setup process, or enable/disable it later on the Advanced > System > About page. Your feedback will help us enhance the product.

14. Optimized the L2TP/IPsec VPN performance.

15. Enhanced USB sharing performance.

16. Fixed the issue that the Tether App displays OneMesh instead of EasyMesh when adding EasyMesh agents.

17. Optimized the overall system stability and performance.

  @Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for releasing the new pre-release firmware (1.3.1 Build 20250718) — really appreciate the continued development on the AX80.

im user ax80 Indonesia region with latest firmware with detail : Archer AX80 (Indonesia Region / Global Hardware V1), Firmware ver : 1.1.3 Build 20250113 rel. 53544, I’d like to ask for clarification:
Are any of the following feature requests implemented or planned for upcoming builds?

1. Manual bandwidth selection for 5GHz (20 / 40 / 80 / 160 MHz toggle)
2. Full access to non-DFS channels up to channel 161 (for Indonesia region)
3. Beamforming On/Off toggle in wireless settings
4. QoS with per-device bandwidth control (not just prioritization profiles)
5. Improved 5GHz stability especially on DFS channels

These are critical for users in regions like Indonesia with dense Wi-Fi environments.
Would love to know if any of these are on the roadmap or being tested internally.

Thanks again and looking forward to your response!

Best regards,
Lemarc

Dear  @Kevin_Z

Also, my compliments to you and the expert team for the new Pre-release firmware for Archer AX80(EU).

When I installed this Pre-release Firmware, I immediately encountered a problem with the screen and the reading of the letters on the menu.

All of its items on the left are not visible to me at all and therefore I cannot enter and check any of the functions.

I have also restarted (Rebootthe device several times but the situation has not improved, I have also tried on two different browsers but the items are still not visible in the menu.

So far, I have also installed the previous beta firmware which was sent to me by Mr. @ Joseph-TP but I did not have this problem with it.

Can you check with your development team what the problem could be...

Attached are screenshots.

@zexoni70

Well. These are not expected.surprise

I remember that you have two additional Archer AX73s connected to the AX80 via Ethernet backhaul. What if you remove them? Will the web interface display correctly?

Please also try incognito mode on your two browsers.

Dear  @Kevin_Z

Yes, I have two more AX73s.

But they are not working in the EasyMesh system with the AX80 at the moment, because I already wrote in the topic that there is a problem with EasyMesh that when I select the channel width to 80MHz on the main Archer AX80 router, then on both AX73s the channel width will not change to 80MHz, but for some reason the channel width remains at 160MHz!

And that's why now those two AX73s are working in AP mode until that problem is solved..., I was hoping that it would be solved with the new firmware

Best regards!

@zexoni70

Sorry, my bad. I haven't checked that topic yet.

So both AX73s are connected to the AX80 via LAN cables and working in AP Mode at the moment.

Is it convenient to temporarily remove them from the network to check whether they cause the abnormal web interface issue?

I've reported this case to the development team and will update here once they get back with some suggestions.

BTW, except from this abnormal web interface concern, is the internet still running properly?

Thank you very much.

  @Kevin_Z

Yes, both AX73 are connected with a LAN cable and both are working in AP mode (DHCP off), and the STATIC IP addresses of the AX73 are first 192.168.0.252 and second  192.168.0.253, while the standard IP address on the Archer AX80 is 192.168.0.1  and of course DHCP is enabled on it.

The Internet, apart from this problem with menu visibility, worked normally while I was at home.

Also, the AX80 is visible through the Tether application and all functions are visible.

Since I am currently at work, I am not able to remove both AX73 from the network, but I can do that in the evening when I get home, so I will let you know the results!

Thank you and best regards!

Dear @Kevin_Z

Now I've arrived home and removed both Archer AX73s from the network, but unfortunately the problem with menu visibility still exists only on the AX80 router.

When I reconnected both AX73 routers to the network, I logged into their menu normally and their menu is fully visible.

Attached are pictures of the AX73 menu, where you can see that everything works.

Also, in the APP Tether, all three devices in the home network are normally visible and I'm attaching a screenshot for that .

@zexoni70

Thank you for checking further and getting back so quickly.

What if you connect a computer to the LAN port of the AX80? Will the web interface display correctly?

Please try pressing F12 on your keyboard when the web interface displays abnormally and verify whether a slow-loading page is causing this.

If nothing helps, I suggest saving the configuration file on your AX80 and sending it to us via email for further investigation.

You can email support.forum@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum Escalation] [ID 836538] Web Interface page displays abnormally after upgrading to the pre-release 1.3.1 Build 20250718.
