Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have a Sky Max hub which is absolutely the worst hub I've ever used! Poor wifi range and constant drop outs, so I decided to replace it with a VR2600 modem router instead. The problem is I can't get it configured to work 100%.

On setup I selected Sky MER VDSL ( I have fibre to cabinet). Dynamic IP, VLAN 101. It connects to the internet ok. I can load websites such as Ebay, Sky news, Gmail etc..... Other sites like Amazon, Facebook won't load at all. This is with using Safari on my Mac and iphone. Chrome seems to load every website fine?? Also apps like ChatGPT say no internet connection....

I've tried setting

DNS Primary 8.8.8.8 Secondary 1.1.1.1

Tried Default MAC address and Use current computer MAC address

Enabled and disabled IPv6

Connected MAc via ethernet and wifi

Nothing changes.

Can anyone help? It's driving me insane! I'm currently using it in Access point mode, it's better than using the sky max hub alone in terms of wifi range, but it doesn't stop the drop outs from the sky max hub.

Thanks Carl.

Hello @jocarl011 ,

Thank you for getting back to me.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

Sky max hub —Archer VR2600 in AP mode )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

You mentioned that there were network disconnection issues when connected to the Sky hub alone. Please note that the Archer VR2600 will be affected by the stability of the front-end equipment.

If there is no Sky hub at the front end of Archer VR2600, it may be that the network source is unstable. If possible, it is recommended that the ISP directly come to your home to compare and test the network stability.

Hello @jocarl011,

Welcome to our community.

If you're experiencing difficulties accessing some websites, try the following steps:
    1. Use different devices and web browsers to rule out the possibility that the issue is with a specific device.
    2. If your DSL modem router is connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, disconnect the cable from the router and connect it directly to your PC to check if you can access the same websites. If you still can't, reach out to your service provider for help.
    3. Check the Parental Control settings, including content filtering and website blocking.

I have the same issue on my Mac, my iPhone and my wife's iPhone. Pages that won't open and all on Safari browser. Certain apps on our iPhone affected too.....

ive reset the network on both Mac and iPhone. Cleared the cache and history. Nothing works.

Also, we have fibre to the cabinet around here, so it’s an RJ11 cable to DSL
