Setting up Media Centre on VX420-G2v
I have recently purchased a VX420-G2V router. I have attached an external HDD to the router and the HDD is visible to my PC, my Laptop and my TV.The PC sees two configurations for the router's disk. Ons is as if it was plugged into the PC; the other has the folders in the root of the disk hidden under a folder "Browse Folders" but has three extra folders "Music", "Pictures" and "Video". None of these additional folders hallow me to paste files into them. I am assuming that they are something to do with the Media Centre option in the router.
The TV only sees the second version of the disk.
Can someone please advise how I can set up the media centre so that I can maintain it from the PC and view it from the TV.
Thanks
Tony

Hello@Joseph-TP.
Thanks for the welcome and for the clear explanation.
I will contact my ISP support centre, but I suspect that I will end up getting a new router.
Kind regards
Tony

Hi@TonyRolfe ,
Thank you for getting back to me.
You can refer to the link I provided. These steps are the configuration guide for USB sharing of conventional products. If there are indeed big differences, it is indeed possible that your current modem does not support these functions temporarily.
If the ISP understands your needs and provides a new modem based on your situation, it is also a good choice.![]()
