Request for Clear Timeline: WireGuard VPN Support for Deco X50 V1.30 (US Firmware)

Hello TP-Link Team,
I am a Deco X50 V1.30 (US region) user currently on firmware 1.2.10, and I would like to request clarification and a timeline for when WireGuard VPN client support will be released for this version.
As you know, other Deco X50 models (EU and global firmware) have already received this feature starting with firmware 1.4.5 and later builds (e.g., 1.5.5), which added built-in WireGuard client and simplified configuration for NordVPN and Surfshark. This is a highly requested capability that dramatically improves VPN performance and usability.
However, US firmware users remain stuck on 1.2.10, with no official communication about when (or if) we will see parity with these other releases. I’ve noticed that previous community posts on this topic were closed without providing specific timelines, leaving users uncertain about the status of development.
My questions to the Deco Team:
-
When will WireGuard VPN support be added to Deco X50 V1.30 (US)?
-
Will the US version achieve feature parity with the global/EU versions that already support WireGuard?
-
If there are delays due to regulatory or technical reasons, can you please provide an official statement so users can plan accordingly?
Deco users value transparency, and even a tentative roadmap or statement would go a long way in addressing the uncertainty surrounding this feature.
Thank you for your time and for listening to the community’s needs. I look forward to your response.

@SayeemAhmed Yes, I'm also from Bangladesh.
I admit that I didn't do much "research" before buying the Deco M4s back in 2021 (hence the "signature" from my comments)
As for the "comment removing" thing, every community/support website follows this, it's nothing new. They won't let you directly criticize/insult them, or use harsh wards/profanity.
Also, some Deco models are indeed lagging behind in latest features. There are no "shortage of brands" as you said, but none of them are as popular as TP-Link (especially in BD).
There are many factors to consider here:
1. In the context of Bangladesh, users don't change Wi-Fi routers often. Even when we do, we tend to stick to the same company/brand.
2. High exchange rate of USD against BDT
3. We won't get products/treatment from TP-Link like a country from Europe/North America will (some of the reasons are justified too)
4. WiFi 6E & WiFi 7 routers releasing so close to each other; leaving Wi-Fi 5 routers behind
5. TP-Link's own policies

Thank you for the update and for detailing the firmware versions across Deco X50 hardware variants.
I’d appreciate some clarification regarding the WireGuard VPN support for Deco X50 V1.30:
- Could you please confirm whether the product team has decided not to include this feature in the roadmap for V1.30?
- If it is not currently planned, what is the formal process for requesting the product team to consider adding this feature? From a user perspective, it seems like a valuable addition that could benefit a wider segment of the community.
- If it is on the roadmap, could you help us understand what prevents providing even an indicative timeframe?
Looking forward to your guidance, and thank you again for your support.
Best regards,

@ImtiazAli Hey brother, look at the Deco X10 US/EU. There is no problem with it. Is there a difference in version or firmware? Have you ever thought about why there is so much trouble with the Deco X50? Also, the Deco X50v1.30 US is not providing any updates. Are others moving forward in the market? I request you to check out many such groups on Facebook.

@SayeemAhmed That's why I said "TP-Link's own policies" in my previous comment.
I've talked about this before as well: Not all Deco devices are treated equally.

"

@ImtiazAli Well they were certainly priced equally when we bought them. Unless there is a SIGNIFICANT hardware change between versions or a well published end of life policy, it is not unreasonable to eventually expect equity in features across the same product line as new firmware is introduced.
As far as I can tell TP-Link just randomly choses what versions of a product line they want to upgrade within what I assume are limited developer resources. And these random plans are held tighter than the recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken's 11 secret herbs and spices.

@ImtiazAli Brother, we need to boycott TP Link from now on, given their current business policy.
