Hi, I'm planning on purchasing a 3 pack mesh system for wifi6e, and would like to use the xe70 pro as simple access points for my network. I would like to clarify some things here about the smart dhcp feature before I go through with this purchase. I have read about the smart dhcp feature causing IP conflicts during a network infrastructure reboot in such layouts. I would like to know if there's a way to permanently disable such features as they more hinder operations than help it in such use cases.

The relevant part of my network here consists of an er605 gateway>sg2210p "core" switch>AP(3x archer c7), working as expected right now. The main gateway handing out dhcp leases, and 3 APs providing a single, seamless roaming wifi network for 5ghz clients. As it currently stands, each ap on each floor has its own Ethernet run, which will be re-used for the deco's Ethernet backhaul back to the core switch. I just want the decos to broadcast a 5ghz+6ghz mesh network particularly for the roaming capabilities. No other devices will be plugged into the deco's ports, as I'm told that can cause issues relating to smart dhcp. Everything goes through the switch, and the switch is uplinked to the gateway as a  "router on a stick".

Which brings me to my question, as it's been really hard to find proper info about this device(deco xe70 pro) right now, as the user guide is only 20 pages long(vs the 60 for the older models which had a lot more info), and it only covers how to setup the deco as a router using the app, and doesn't go over the features or options provided in the app. I don't see any coverage of this online too(in depth yt reviews etc) so I'm kinda lost here. Does the app have all fully featured functions, and is there a web interface where I can configure same?

My main concern is the decos will boot up faster than the gateway(~3mins vs ~5mins), and hence can run smart dhcp and assign ips to clients because it doesn't see a dhcp server(as the gateway is still down).
1. Does the deco xe70 pro have an option to disable smart DHCP under advanced settings when used as access points?
2. Does the deco xe70 pro, when used in access point mode intelligently ping for a dhcp server every 60 seconds? And then forced its dhcp off when it detects the main router online. (This seems to be mentioned as a fix for how it works on an older deco model to fixing this issue, as I read about it on another thread).

I really would like to know if this type of setup is possible with the deco xe70 pro, as I'm really leaning towards them as the best option. My old archer c7 had a simple option to permanently disable its own "smart ip dhcp" server and I manually assigned a permanent static ip address to each access point. I would be extremely relieved if the decos have a similar configuration and easy way to disable such features that can cause unintended consequences in such networks. TIA.

Hi, thank you very much for your time and patience.

Deco XE70 Pro supports turning smart DHCP off in AP mode, and you can also manually assign static IP addresses on the ER605 for 2 Deco XE70 Pros, like what you used to configure for Archer C7.

And Deco XE70 Pro also works well in the following topology:

Internet---ER605 gateway>sg2210p "core" switch>AP(3xXE70 Pros)

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.
