Model: Deco X1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 Build 20231221 Rel. 42276

Error "The file is too large" shown when trying to upgrade Deco.

I cannot upgrade it neither manually because device list selection is broken, javascript has a bug trying to read "dial_type".

So I cannot select a device model, that is required to continue.

  @Congobill

Hi, welcome to the community.

As 1.0.5 is quite an older version, it is recommended to update to the 1.1.6 Build 20240911 version first manually, then 1.2.1/1.3.0:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-x1500/#Firmware

PS, you should be able to find the IP address of the satellite Deco X1500/Deco X10 on the Deco APP. You can log into the individual web UI of a specific Deco X1500 to update its firmware first. Once all satellite Decos are updated, we can go back to the main Deco X1500/Deco X10.

(Deco X1500 and Deco X10 shared the same firmware download link.)

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @UnluckyAlf

Hi, would both "Online Upgrade" and "Local Upgrade" to 1.3.0 report "file too large"?

Can you manually update to the last 1.2.1 version via web UI?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

I will try. But 10 minutes ago after trying again from the app and getting a failure message I suddenly got a notification that it was downloaded. I followed the installation procedure. It took 2 minutes, said all was good. Then I got the message again saying firmware needed updating and I’m still on 1.7. Losing the will to live with it to be honest.
