Phenomenon:

The Archer VR2100_V1 and Archer VR600_V3 recently added support for the OpenVPN client through a firmware update, fulfilling a long-awaited request from many users!

However, we've received feedback from some users that after running the OpenVPN client, they are unable to disable this feature properly and receive a report 'Error code:1, internal error'.

Available Solutions:

We've expedited efforts to identify the cause of the unexpected behavior described above, and our development team has provided beta firmware.

Please upgrade and install the beta software on your Archer VR2100 or Archer VR600, and confirm whether the OpenVPN client function can be disabled properly:

Re:Archer VR2100 / Archer VR600 reports ‘Error code:1’ when disabling the VPN client
Yesterday
I am also having this issue with the openvpn client not functioning properly. I have tried upgrading the firmware to the latest beta. The VPN worked once on install, but after disabling and re-enabling the openvpn client, it stopped working again. I wasn’t having the error 1 code but still the vpn client was stuck on “Connecting” and never switched to “Connected”. Also, I have observed that after disabling the open vpn client, i lost all internet connectivity (unable to resolve DNS errors). I really appreciate the efforts you are putting into solving this issue, and I hope my reporting will help you advance this feature in a future update. In the meantime i have reverted the firmware back to the latest stable build. Please let me know if you have another solution as it is really important to me to get this feature working as I am unable to access content through some of my devices otherwise.
