Model: TL-MR100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:‪1.5.0 0.9.1

Hello, I just thinking to buy a 50ohm SMA Male to Female cable, Plan is I belong to rural area in india 4G network barely comes indoors so i want to place MR100's default antena to the roof top and wifi inside my room by connecting through the cable.

I figured ports are very tiny compared to DTH Dish TV Ports so hard to find those type connectors with proper cable i found a cable in amazon with their port size SMA Female 0.24INCH (6.20mm) and SMA Male 0.30 inch (7.70mm)

But im confused about router and its antena port size they are lesser than inch. can not massure properly so can you help me with that.

Here are raw images of my router and its antena port

  @sandeshsahu

Hi, TL-MR100 has a standard SMA female connector that has outside threads with a 1/4"-36 pitch and a center receptacle for a male pin. While the exact dimensions vary, the outside diameter is generally around 5.49mm to 5.54mm, with a center sleeve hole of about 1.24mm to 1.30mm.

By the way, it would be better to directly replace the original antennas with two powerful outdoor LTE antennas, instead of using the extension cable, and then put the original antenna outside.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you so much for the information, Currently replacing both antenas with external antena will be costlier for me so i was thinking only add an extension cable to main antena only. and external antenas are very high priced and mostly not available in amazon so will it work if i add only one extension cable on main antena?

  @sandeshsahu

Hi, we haven't tested using the extension cable, so it can't be guaranteed that they will work well.

The original antenna is not waterproof, and when using an external antenna, it is suggested to replace both, so I think you could also consider using extension cables for both.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Hello theres update. im now using its antena outside and happy 10x than before. i took the risk of buying that cable wasnt sure it will fit but it actually does fit.

im now using its main antena outside only one thing is that using antena at that distant is not powerful and does not increase range much infact compare to placing router itself on the roof i get low signals but thats okay since i dont get Band 3 , 40 Inside my room at all. now using this method im able to get full signals of all avail bands inside my room with max TA.

i placed my antena infront of my old DTH Antena Disk so the signals reflects from disk to directly antena and im getting max speed that i never imagined i could get ever in that area.
