@MaracaKan

@Rabatonfr

In web UI, go to "Advanced" -> "GPON WAN", and edit the current WAN interface.

Go to the very bottom of the page and see if "Mac Clone" is active.

If it is, disable it, by choosing "Do not clone Mac Address".

I found many people online with that problem.

@Joseph-TP I did some tests, and my conclusion is if current WAN interface uses a MAC address that's NOT from Tp Link, download speeds will be limited to 50Mb/s.

What I did exactly:

Disabled Mac Clone, and connected to internet. Then I copied MAC address from WAN interface, available from Advanced -> Status page.

IF I clone this MAC address (by editing WAN interface), or if I increment the last character by 1, it connects normally, with full speed.

If I clone any other mac address (both from my original ONU, or a completely random value), downloads are limited to 50mb/s.

I don't know if it's a bug in firmware, or something that's been done on purpose to limit speed, but it's something that's happening exclusively on tp link devices.

Devices affected:

XX230v

XX530v (V1)

Hello@MaracaKan ,

I understand your concerns, and I hope to provide you with the best solution as soon as possible.

However, I currently don't have any relevant documentation for this product,  that's why I can't provide general troubleshooting advice.

Recent feedback seems to be different from previous cases. I've contacted multiple departments to confirm after-sales service details for this product. The relevant departments are currently investigating, and I will reply if there are any updates.

Regarding your situation, can I confirm the following details?

  • Who is your ISP?
  • Who is the retailer from whom you purchased the XX530v?
  • Does the retailer provide after-sales service, such as basic configuration instructions?
  • Also, did the retailer clearly state which ISPs the XX530v is compatible with after purchase?

@Joseph-TP  I have same problem then I answer this questions while OP doesn't appear:

- Tested on TIM FIBRA

- I learn about xx530v when looking for a device to replace my ISP ONU. It's sold here in Brazil just like any other router. It wasnt recommended by ISP because it doesn't have to be. As long as it has a GPON port, and we have VLAN ID, GPON SN of the original ISP device, and PPPoE credentials, any device would work. Just like in ADSL/VDSL days, remember? You don't need the ISP to replace a device, you can just buy it and replace it.

- I contacted live chat, but honestly, it's the second time I do it, and it's always that same ISP story they tell me. You need to contact ISP, etc etc. To short, local tp link support can't help. You explain to them everything, that ISP says everything is right on their ends and that it was ISP that tolds us to contact tp link, but nothing helps.

It seems like people that buy these TP LINK ONT devices from regular stores are criminals, it's very weird. If its a device supposed to be only for ISPs, then why is it be sold by big stores in Brazil?

This is a problem specific to Tp Link. Other devices don't have this limitation. Can anyone help?
