Hi All.

 

I have got a Deco X55, I recently connected a satellite one not far from it (see picture below), the satellite is close to the ceiling and the main one is on the floor above the ceiling, there is a ethernet port right next to the satellite, I have connected that to the main deco, however when I look on the app, its not telling me that its ethernet connected, if the satellite is close to the main one, does it prioritise wifi signal over ethernet link connection ?, the second satellite which is further away from the main one uses ethernet and that clearly tells me that its using ethernet backhauk on the app and works nicely, I was expectng this satellite to also show ethernet but its not.

 

The second problem is that it keeps going offline after about 5 minutes, I have rebooted serveral times not sure why its going offline on the app, is this because I am using the ethernet and yet the main deco unit is within close proximity to the satellite unit ?

Did this Deco also turn to flashing green when the Deco APP reported "offline"? Or did it stay on solid green all the time?

If possible, could you please swap the location of these two satellite Deco X50s to see whether the reported issue always follows one satellite Deco, or stays with the same location?

Thanks very much for the response, it flashes red when teh deco reports as offline which is just weird. It only happens when I connect with a cable. The issue I have is that it has to be in that location. I have gt similar issues with another deco setup in a different location, its starting to look like its not a reliable product. In other locations it works well, as soon as the cable is connected to the main deco, it switches o the ethernet backhaul and I can see it working. 

 

I have since uploaded the logs, not sure what else to do now as users are complaining of bad connection.
