Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 29250724 rel.49903

After the latest firmware update, QoS function no longer works.

I am able to enable it in settings, but the latency gets even worse without it.

 

Before the firmware update, when I enable QoS, I got ~3ms latency for both download and upload, now with the new update I get 10ms for download and 50ms for upload. When I disable it, the latency is 8ms download and 40ms upload. This is ridiculous.

 

I tried also lowering the download and upload max rate in QoS settings, but nothing changes... It is like QoS is not even working for some reason. Also tried restarting, no changes at all.

 

Please investigate and suggest solutions.

I have been contacted by an engineer and the issue was solved, although I received just a beta firmware from the engineer to test and after that there was no official update. When do you plan to release the update?

May I know the tools or website that you used to test the latency?

After the firmware update, have you changed any settings on the router?

Tools used: Bufferbloat (primary tool), SpeedTest, Command prompt for quick ping and TCPOptimizer. I didn’t do anything actually, the first steps from my side were backtracking my day and seeing if I did something wrong. But the only thing changed was the firmware update on the router. I am doing wide variety of activities… gaming, streaming, remote desktop and so much more. The QoS I use mostly for the remote desktop for low input latency and stability. I also tried notifying the internet provider and they tested their network and assured me that its all good on their side.

Generally speaking, if the beta firmware can fix your problem, the fix will be added to the new official firmware.

Yes, but the firmware can be released in 6 months or maybe never and my device QoS will stay broken. Moreover, when I go to your official site for a firmware, the latest one is 1.3.1.. so the new 1.4.3 firmware can’t be downloaded anywhere on your site, which is very strange.
