HX710-Pro not working correctly as a mesh network
I have a mesh network setup with two of the above devices, and EX820v Router and also a HX710 with different firmware - 0.2.0 3.0.0 v6082.0 Build 240806 Rel.7178n
I have BRSK broadband but the 3 HX710Pro were bought from ebay and two of them have the BRSK branding on them, and the Build 240806 Rel.7178n does not.
They are not always functioning correctly as a mesh network. My phone sometimes fails to remain connected to wifi when I go from downstairs to upstairs or vice versa and I'm wondering if this is because of the different firmware versions.
If so, is it possible to change the firmware on the device with firmware "Build 240806 Rel.7178n" so that it matches the others?
Many thanks,
Damian

For anyone else having similar issues, I eventually found what the issue was. I turned off the GI setting (guard interval) on my router and the mesh is now functioning correctly. I also turned fast routing on.

Hi, welcome to the community.
Did you add all 3 HX710 pro units to the EasyMesh network of EX820v?
Did the failure of seamless roaming on the mobile phone always happen when moving between HX710 Pro_Build 241105 and HX710 Pro_Build 240806?
Could the mobile phone automatically roam between EX820v and HX710 pro?
How about other mobile devices? Did they run into a similar issue?
I don't think the reported issue is related to different firmware versions. EasyMesh is advertised to establish a seamless wireless connection throughout your home among the EasyMesh router and extenders. There are even different models involved.
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Hi David,
Many thanks for getting back to me about this.
Yes, all three HX710 Pro units were added via the EX820v EasyMesh network, and all are reporting no problems within the Aginet App.
The issue with phones WiFi failing to automatically reconnect to different units in the mesh system affects multiple mobile phones within the household. The issue is intermittent and so it is difficult to say if it is only happening when the phones are roaming between specific units. When it does occur, the phone will say "obtaining IP address" and remain stuck on this until I turn WiFi off and on. I have just tried to replicate the issue but, of course, it didn't happen!
In the Aginet App the connection diagram is a straight line which shows EX820v -> HX710 Pro (EU1) -> HX710 Pro (GBBRSK) -> HX710 Pro (GBBRSK)
So the GBBRSK units are passing through the EU1 unit. I thought that the different firmware of the EU1 unit may be the cause of this issue.
Many thanks,
Damian

Hi, it would be better to start a new thread here with more details:
https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/edit/topic?moduleId=39
such as:
How about the model numbers of the EasyMesh Controller and Agent? Or are there only HX710 Pro units?
Are the HX710 Pro units offered by the ISP? How about their firmware versions?
How do the laptops and tablets behave over the Mesh network?
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi Brian,
It's better but still not 100%.
Turning off short GI helped but I've experimented with the settings on the EX820v router and now have :
WMM enabled
Short GI disabled
AP Isolation disabled
Airtime fairness disabled
fast roaming disabled
I've also turned band steering off, and have two wifi networks one for the 2.4g, one for the 5g. I also reduced Transmit Power to middle from high.
These settings have helped but I find I still have to turn off and on one of hx710-pro units every few days.
We get issues with laptops, phones and tablets. Things that don't move from one node to another seem fine.
TP-Link said that it was nothing to do with the firmware, and that even different devices running Easy Mesh should work seamlessly together.
Phones, laptops and tablets would be connected to one node, but then disconnect when you went upstairs or closer to another node.I never had these issues with my previous Deco mesh system and only swapped to this one because it can handle WiFi 6.
