Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.3 Build 20250725 rel. 18118

Hi,

A few weeks ago I've installed the latest firmware update (the one which introduces the advanced parental control features). I have been using the time limits functionality via the Tether app together with the new bedtime limits and both have been working fine for a while. Recently I realised that they both stopped working so I checked the settings in the Tether app and both are set up correctly to limit both the time per day and the bedtime hours. However, when I go back to the 'main' screen for my child the tab at the top says that there are no limits for today, which is not true. I've reset/ saved them both a number of times and neither is being reflected in the main screen, hence devices do not get blocked during specific times of day/ after being active for the specified time.

I have gone through all troubleshooting guides on TP-Link's websites (checked the MAC addresses, check for further firmware updates, checked for app updates and so on). The only thing that seems to work right now is the manual adjustment of time limit (eg -2hrs, +2hrs etc). Only when I go -2hrs the time limit appears as 22hrs.

I have not purchased the 'advanced' PC package, but I understand these two basic functions should still be available (others are locked in the app with a little padlock next to them)

Please could you assist?

Kind regards

Hello @Adamski4 ,

For insurance, it's recommended to save a copy of the router's Backup Config file before a hard reset.

How to create and restore from a backup file on your TP-Link Router

It seems that you set up new connection information after reconfiguring the Archer AX6000.

As far as I know, when connecting to a new network for the first time, the iPad automatically enables a random MAC address (private address) by default. This is a system privacy protection mechanism and is unrelated to previous settings on other networks.
You will need to manually go to the new network's settings and turn off this feature again to use the real MAC address.

Hello @Adamski4 ,

Currently, we haven't received similar feedback. Would you mind trying a hard reset of the router and reconfiguring it? This might directly eliminate the anomaly.

  @Joseph-TP

I've done a full factory reset and it helped, though I've been experiencing random disconnects since then. For example all of the smart plugs somehow lost connection and I had to reset them too. I just hope I won't need to go through this process again every time there's a firmware update..

as an FYI - after the reset one of the Ipads did not work properly with the time limits/ sleep hours but I found that it had a dynamic MAC address enabled in its settings. Once I disabled this it began to work. Not sure why it worked before the firmware update.
