Model: Deco E4

Firmware Version:

I am desperately trying to get some help/advice on using the Deco E4's with Hyperoptic full fibre.

The speeds achieved when using the Hyperoptic router are normal at around 700Mbps but when running through the Deco is drops all the way down to around 100Mbps, even when testing right next to it.  The speeds on the other Deco's (+- 8-10 meters away) is only around 60-80Mbps.

I have tried with the Deco connected directly to the Hyperoptic port (bypassing their router) as well as connecting the Deco to their router and then disabling the Hyperoptic router's Wi-Fi without any luck.  Even when I run an ethernet cable from my computer directly to the Deco connected to the Hyperoptic router, the speeds are only around 100mbps but when I connect directly to the Hyperoptic router with an ethernet cable the speed is back up at around 700Mbps.

It's as if the Deco is somehow restricting the speed and I cannot understand why...

Many thanks if anyone is able to assist!

Deco E4 has 100Mbps Ethernet ports. This is what restricting the speed.

With Deco E4 as Main Deco you will not get speeds faster than 100Mbps from Deco mesh.

  @Alexandre.

Hi Alexandre, thanks for your response.  I did not realise that the Ethernet ports weren't Gigabit ports!  But that is confusing as the Deco E4 AC1200 states that it supports speeds of up to 1167Mbps.  How is that even possible if the ports are 100Mbps!?

Thanks again.

Thanks for the help.  I cannot believe that I missed the fact that the E4's don't have Gigabit ports...

So my solution now is to get a single unit Deco with a Gigabit port (such as the X10) to use as the main unit connected to the Hyperoptic port and then use the E4's as mesh units around the house.

What a frustrating lesson to learn!

Thanks again...
